June 15 from 4:30-6 p.m., at Deschutes Brewery in downtown Bend, I’ll be participating in Beer & Books with five other authors in the Rendezvous with Risk Literary Festival. Christopher Boucher, T. Geronimo Johnson, Nicole J. Georges, Trevino L. Brings Plenty, and Lindsay Wong will also have their books paired with beverages, not always beer. Irene Cooper chose to pair Anxious Attachments with Obsidian Stout, saying it is in “no hurry, yet irresistible, a brew to savor on the first chill of a long night. It’s like the deep laughter of someone you’ve known forever, who still surprises you with their sweetness. It’s rich but yielding, a creamy adffogato of espresso edged with dark cocoa, a grown-up pleasure.”
